Musa Ibrahim, spokesman of dictator Muammar Gaddafi during the last months of the old regime was arrested today in the city of Tarhuna, 90 kilometers southeast of Tripoli and northern stronghold of Bani Walid gadafista, reported to Amin Ahmed, one of rebel leaders in the region. According to the source, Ibrahim, known to be the interlocutor with the Western media, trying to flee the city when he was arrested by militiamen in an area known as Um Al Rashrash. The source said that by the former spokesman arrested other former officials of the regime, but did not provide their names.
The arrested have been taken to the capital amid tight security. Ibrahim Musa became famous for his appearances in the media for foreign journalists in Tripoli armed popular revolt that overthrew the Gaddafi regime between February and October 2011 .
